Boys and girls and adolescents with difficult stories live at the Leskoc House in Kosovo. They all come from families with various challenges, most often linked to situations of vulnerability and extreme poverty, social hardship, and serious mental health issues that no one takes care of.

For over twenty years, the House has been caring for those living on the margins. The Leskoc House is a mission, currently managed by Caritas Umbria where various activities are carried out by representatives Rinaldo Marion and Francesca Mosca. First and foremost, reception: ten minors live permanently in the facility, while another ten frequent the House during the day, having no other safe place to spend their days.
Since 2016, the Valter Baldaccini Foundation has collaborated with the House by implementing training and job placement projects for the boys and girls once they have grown up.
This year, your contribution can do even more: choose to support the children of the Leskoc House with a Christmas donation.

Every child welcomed into the Leskoc House brings with them a difficult story, but also a great desire for rebirth.
Antoneta, Ismet, and Jelena are three siblings raised by a mother and father who suffer from significant mental health issues. When they were little, their father would search the garbage for toys to make them smile; their mother, suffering from schizophrenia, alternated between moments of sweetness and sudden violence. Today, Antoneta is undergoing psychological therapy to learn how to manage her emotions; Ismet, sweet and affectionate, attends school with a special education teacher and works hard every day with enthusiasm. Jelena, the youngest, smiles when she walks into class in the morning.
Arben and Fatime are also brother and sister, and their parents are very young. Her father has a degenerative disease, and her mother, married at just thirteen, is a woman trapped in a difficult life marked by addiction, violence, and loneliness. Raised in a home without rules or protection, Fatime is now a permanent resident of the Home, and Arben, who has some difficulties, currently attends only during the day.
Among the children who attend the Home during the day are Merita, Naim, and Fadil, currently among the youngest guests. Merita is the eldest and is 4 years old, while Fadil is only 10 months old. Fadil was born prematurely, and his mother, very young and with severe cognitive impairment, was unable to care for him. Today, after months of care and attention, he is crawling, smiling, has gained weight, and is growing with the attention and love of those who support him every day.
Some siblings from a large family who live in the countryside near the Leskoc Home are also always welcomed during the day. There are nine brothers and sisters in this extremely poor family, with an absent father and an obese mother with cognitive difficulties. Adi, the eldest teenage daughter, takes care of everything and everyone.

Only with your help can every boy and girl at the Leskoc House truly feel at home.
