Is it possible that there are connections between sport and solidarity? In recent years, the Valter Baldaccini Foundation has had several experiences linking these two worlds, such as the five editions of the football tournament “Un Goal per Valter” and the wonderful experience shared with Olympic fencer Andrea Santarelli. This summer adds a new chapter, with clay pigeon shooting taking center stage at the Pink Cup 2026.
The Pink Cup 2026 is an event born three years ago from an idea by Emanuela Croce Bononi, Roberta Pelosi, and Christine Maria Brescacin. It combines sport and solidarity in an original format that blends competition and entertainment. This year, the Valter Baldaccini Foundation is the beneficiary of the fundraising initiative linked to the event.
The Pink Cup 2026 is also about solidarity and represents a concrete fundraising initiative. This year, the participation fees paid by the competitors will be allocated to the social inclusion project “A Job for the Mothers of Mathare”.
“Pink Cup 2026 is created by women, for women: where passion for clay pigeon shooting becomes solidarity and the value of women finds its voice - said Christine Maria Brescacin, one of the three organizers of the initiative. We are women with full lives, with struggles and dreams like everyone else. We chose the Valter Baldaccini Foundation because it believes in a kind of solidarity that does not just speak, but acts. As women, we dedicate this competition to the mothers of Mathare, because true goodness is recognized when it arrives quietly, exactly where it is needed. We do this in memory of Valter Baldaccini, a man who chose to do good without drama, through concrete actions that reach those facing the greatest hardships. Let’s make sure that no mother feels alone. Let’s take part together to support the Foundation, the Pink Cup 2026 is open to anyone who wants to be involved, through participation, support, or sharing. Because it only takes a little, when it comes from the heart”.
Everyone can provide tangible support to the mothers of Mathare by taking part in the fundraising campaign launched for the Pink Cup 2026.
Donate now and help give a future to this group of very young women who are learning a profession to achieve independence and self-sufficiency.
