For several years now, the last week of June has been dedicated to visiting the Leskoc House in Kosovo, where one of the Valter Baldaccini Foundation’s educational and social inclusion projects is conducted.
For 2026, the Valter Baldaccini Foundation’s social project in Kosovo is focused on four young men and women who have a connection with the House, or who grew up there, and who, upon reaching adulthood, are either entering the workforce or choosing to continue their education. In particular, the Valter Baldaccini Foundation is supporting:
In addition, starting in 2026, thanks to the generosity and support of many donors, the Valter Baldaccini Foundation is helping cover the expenses necessary for the operation and upkeep of this large home, including the purchase of food, fuel costs, heating expenses, and electricity bills.
Each year, returning to Leskoc means not only discussing ongoing projects with our local partners, but also experiencing something truly immersive and profound, because what is accomplished every day at the House is extraordinary.
This year, a small all-female delegation, each with a unique connection to the Valter Baldaccini Foundation, took part in the trip to Kosovo:
Our gratitude goes to everyone at the Leskoc House, who, as always, welcomed us with great warmth and affection. A heartfelt thank you also goes to the young women who joined us on this journey. It only took a few days—filled with smiles, diapers, boxes of clothes and food supplies, adventurous driving, games, and small projects—for them to develop what one of them described as “Kosovo sickness”: that feeling of longing and attachment that makes you want to return as soon as you leave.
