A book collects the writings and speeches of Valter Baldaccini

“Certain characteristics should guide life in UMBRA: mutual respect, loyalty and above all feeling like a team”. It is 1st April 1987, the 15th birthday of the then Umbra Cuscinetti. The Production Manager Valter Baldaccini is writing a letter to his colleagues outlining the values that still underlie UMBRAGROUP today, the company that Valter founded most fifty years ago.

Thus opens "Valter Baldaccini: an enlightened entrepreneur at the service of the common good", a collection of his writings and speeches edited by the Valter Baldaccini Foundation and published by FrancoAngeli.

It’s a journey that recounts the growth, difficulties, and challenges of a company, but above all it’s the testimony of the life of a man who has always acted, both in his work and in his private life, according to the golden rule of Christianity: "love your neighbor".

It’s an emotional and intense story that could only end with what is considered his spiritual testament in a speech he made on April 9, 2014, a few days before his passage to eternal life, when he told his collaborators: "together we threw a great seed that will grow into a great plant”. Inspired by these words, a year later, the Foundation which bears his name was born and continues to follow humanitarian projects that he himself created.

The book is the result of an important collection, selection and transcription process and it will be presented to the public, on the occasion of of the Foundation’s eighth anniversary, on Wednesday 3 May 2023, at 6 pm, at the Teatro San Carlo in Foligno, via Aurelio Saffi 18.

Speakers will include:

  • Stefano Zuccarini, mayor of Foligno
  • His Eminence Mons. Domenico Sorrentino, Bishop of Foligno, Assisi, Nocera Umbra and Gualdo Tadino
  • Beatrice Baldaccini, President of the Valter Baldaccini Foundation
  • Marco Moschini, Professor of Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Perugia
  • Giampietro Parolin, Professor in charge of Strategic Management at Sophia University Institute and ESU Financial Manager of Padua

The meeting will be moderated by Fabio Luccioli, Director of Radio Gente Umbra.

The event is sponsored by the Municipality of Foligno. Further information is available in the flyer.

We are looking forward to seeing you there.
