Between sport and solidarity: Pink Cup 2026 for the Valter Baldaccini Foundation

Can sport and solidarity go hand in hand? Over the years, the Valter Baldaccini Foundation has been involved in several initiatives exploring the connection between these two worlds, including the now five editions of the football tournament “A Goal for Valter” and the wonderful experience shared with Olympic fencer Andrea Santarelli. This summer, a new chapter was added, with clay pigeon shooting taking centre stage at the Pink Cup 2026.

What is Pink Cup 2026? A clay pigeon shooting competition supporting the Valter Baldaccini Foundation

This time, the connection was with clay pigeon shooting, a sport the Valter Baldaccini Foundation first became familiar with during one of the early episodes of the radio programme “Donne d'impatto”, featuring athlete Fiammetta Rossi. This summer, the Foundation was involved in the third edition of the Pink Cup 2026.

The Pink Cup 2026 is an event born from an idea by Emanuela Croce Bonomi, Roberta Pelosi and Christine Maria Brescacin. It brings sport and solidarity together through an original format combining competition and entertainment. This year, the Valter Baldaccini Foundation was selected as the beneficiary of the event’s fundraising initiative.

The Pink Cup 2026 programme: two stages, two disciplines

• The first event, dedicated to Trap, took place from 12 to 14 June 2026 at TAV San Giovanni, in Vercelli.
• The second stage of the event was dedicated to Compak Sporting and took place from 3 to 5 July 2026 at TAV Foligno, in the city of Foligno.

Pink Cup 2026 supporting the mothers of Mathare

The Pink Cup 2026 is also about solidarity and a concrete fundraising initiative. This year, the registration fees paid by athletes taking part in the competition were donated to the social inclusion project "A job for the young mothers of Mathare".

“Pink Cup 2026 was created by women, for women: where a passion for clay pigeon shooting becomes solidarity and the value of women finds its voice – Christine Maria Brescacin, one of the initiative’s three organisers, told us. We are women with full lives, with struggles and dreams, just like everyone else. We chose the Valter Baldaccini Foundation because it believes in a kind of solidarity that does not just talk, but takes action. From woman to woman, we dedicate this competition to the mothers of Mathare, because true goodness is recognised when it arrives quietly, precisely where it is needed most. And we do so in memory of Valter Baldaccini, a man who chose to do good without seeking attention, through concrete actions that reach those whose lives are most difficult. Let us make sure that no mother feels alone. Let us take part together to support the Foundation. Pink Cup 2026 is open to anyone who wants to be involved: by participating, offering support or sharing the initiative. Because even a little can make a difference when it comes from the heart.”

The outstanding fundraising campaign for the mothers of Mathare

Through the Valter Baldaccini Foundation’s fundraising platform, the Pink Cup organising committee launched an outstanding fundraising campaign.

Almost €3,000 were raised among the event participants. This significant donation will help secure a future for this group of very young women, who are learning a trade to gain independence and become self-sufficient.
