The Foundation together with the new hires of UMBRAGROUP

On 9 September, the Valter Baldaccini Foundation took part in a special event: the meeting dedicated to UMBRAGROUP's new hires. This collaboration offered a wonderful opportunity for both organizations to share and enhance their ideals.

This appointment was much more than a simple meeting: it was a celebration of sharing, enrichment, and fun. Beatrice Baldaccini, our President, had the opportunity to illustrate to those present the mission of the Foundation, our various solidarity projects, and the unforgettable figure of Valter Baldaccini.

A particularly touching moment of the day was when Reno Ortolani, President of the Board of Directors of UMBRAGROUP, read an extract from a speech taken from the book "Valter Baldaccini: an enlightened entrepreneur at the service of the common good" (ed. FrancoAngeli, 2023). This speech was delivered by Valter Baldaccini in 2004. It highlights Valter Baldaccini's extraordinary vision and the importance of the contribution of him to society.

(...) the company is made up of men and therefore the men "we" are the most important capital. Working efficiently, where efficiency becomes a social function, since by producing efficiently we create the conditions for stable work which is a natural aspiration of man because through his work the human person can fully realize himself (...). Here there is the utmost respect, in trying to know and appreciate the qualities of each one. In addition to the greeting, which is obligatory, we have a comfortable, safe environment. (…) Respect and esteem are important, there is also a more concrete respect, which is the result of the first. Impeccable ethical behavior. Ethics should not be confused with philosophy. I understood what ethics is for me from the moment I was clear that every man is my brother (...) With this I don't feel like Saint Francis, but I have always been clear that inside the company it is the man who is at the center of production activity.

Valter Baldaccini's words resonate today as a warning and an inspiration, reminding us of the essence of every organization: people. As we continue to build a better future through solidarity projects and partnerships, we are committed to keeping alive the principles of respect, esteem, and ethics, putting the individual at the center of all our actions.
