"Valter Baldaccini: un imprenditore illuminato al servizio del bene comune" (Valter Baldaccini: an enlightened entrepreneur at the service of others) is the collection of Valter Baldaccini's writings and speeches edited by the Valter Baldaccini Foundation under the supervision of Professor Marco Moschini and published by the FrancoAngeli publishing house in 2023.
The book is the result of an important collection, selection and transcription work. It is a journey through Valter's words from 1987 to 2014, a path that winds through the growth, difficulties and challenges of a company, but above all the life testimony life of a man who always acted, both at work and in private, according to the golden rule of Christianity: "love your neighbor".
It’s an emotional and intense story that could only end with what is considered his spiritual testament, in a speech he made on April 9, 2014, a few days before his passage to eternal life, to greet all his collaborators: "together we threw a great seed that will grow into a great plant” he said. A year later, his words were realized and the Foundation, which bears his name was born. It continues to follow humanitarian projects that he himself created.
“If it is true that there are people who stand out for their exceptional nature, it is equally true that Valter Baldaccini is to be counted among them. An extraordinary quality which in his case cannot be measured only by considering the history and results of the large company he built, but which is based on the golden rule of Christianity "love your neighbor", which Valter made his own and placed at the center of his private and professional life.
Valter Baldaccini (1945-2014), a man of humble origins, born in a small village in the heart of Umbria, was an entrepreneur enlightened by strong Christian values. Fifty years ago, he founded UMBRAGROUP, a company which is still a leader in the aeronautical and industrial sector.
This collection of his speeches and writings is an intertwining in which personal history and company choices overlap, celebration of successes, moments of crisis, declarations of dreams and objectives, opportunities, critical issues, painful choices, strategies, and future prospects. He believed that wealth must be distributed, that profit must be combined with solidarity, that respect must guide our actions and that the sense of sharing, community, family, and friendship is fundamental in everyone's life.
Valter Baldaccini is an example to follow, even more so for those who weren't lucky enough to meet him. The publication of his words is necessary to preserve the topicality and depth of his thought ”.
The publication was presented for the first time in Foligno on May 3, 2023, on the Foundation’s eighth anniversary.
On July 7, 2023, on the initiative of the Municipality of Albanella which in 2012 had recognized the honorary citizenship to Valter Baldaccini, the book was presented at Palazzo Spinelli.
On September 27, 2023, the Umbria Carabinieri Legion Command, in Perugia, hosted the third presentation of the collection.
