A city suitable for children

A few weeks have passed and we are finally able to tell you about “The city in your pocket”. We want to share some of the joy and satisfaction that the participants and organizers experienced during the two event weekends.

"The city in your pocket" was born from an idea of Dedi-care and the La Tenda Community, with which we have been carrying out the socio-educational project "With the families" for some years now.

The idea of this socio-educational intervention was to create a child-friendly city. Thus Villa Fidelia’s former galloping track of in Spello has been transformed into a free sharing space for children and their parents, who together have been able to try their hand at workshops, games and activities, from sports such as judo, figure skating. and fencing, to the more creative ones where there was no lack of proposals for sculpture, art therapy, music, reading and creative workshops with recycled materials.

The first edition of the festival was able to count on the support of various local associations that deal with childhood issues in various ways as well as the Municipality of Spello and the Province of Perugia which sponsored the initiative. All present on Friday, August 27, 2021 for the ribbon cutting, attended the event with the common desire to entertain girls and boys aged 3 to 11, to include everyone and never emphasize the differences.

Families and children responded enthusiastically, with lots of smiles and colorful and creative activities. So many participated that they were sold out both on August 27-28-29 and on September 3-4-5  !

The Valter Baldaccini Foundation supported the first edition of this festival and we are happy that it was successful, especially in this moment of restricted gatherings as a consequence of the pandemic. Having offered opportunities for children to meet, educate, play and have fun leaves us very satisfied and confident of being able to replicate this event next year.
