UMBRAGROUP collaborators for the mothers of Mathare

All the people who took part in the various festive occasions organized by UMBRAGROUP for Christmas were asked for a symbolic registration fee, which was then entirely donated to the Valter Baldaccini Foundation.

We are very happy to inform you that those small contributions have become a significant and important donation of € 7,375.00 which will be used for the realization of the socio-educational project "A job for the young mothers of Mathare" dedicated to the underage mothers of one of Nairobi’s largest slums in Kenya’s capital. 

Now in its third year, the socio-educational project aims to train and support a group of fifteen girls, little more than teenagers, who have become mothers. For a year:

• they will receive help with their shopping;
• will attend a local craft workshop to learn a job;
• they will be followed by a psychologist, who will help them deal with the complex moment they are going through.

Thanks to all the collaborators of UMBRAGROUP for having joined the initiative with such enthusiasm and for choosing to give these young women a future. Only together can we continue to make this plant stronger and more luxuriant, just as Valter Baldaccini left us.
