Close to Kamande, Sophia and Leah and the Mathare nuns

Every year the Valter Baldaccini Foundation offers a little support to the Sisters of Mathare. It was a small gesture that Valter Baldaccini particularly cared about and we want to continue supporting them.

This year’s support went to Kamande, Sophia and Leah who need to spend a period at the "Judah Healing Center," a rehabilitation center located in Kitengela, just outside Nairobi. It is a small structure, with trained and competent staff, where people can start an internal rehabilitation process of three months and then continue their social and work reintegration.

“In the past we have sent some girls addicted to glue, bhang and alcohol to the Center - the Mathare nuns told us. Of course we know that some don’t make it and fall back into addiction; however, there are those who manage to start a new life and this is an immense joy for us and their families ".

For Kamande, Sophia (pictured with their children) and Leah this opportunity is truly an opportunity to start a new life.
