A new life for Maria and her children is possible thanks to you

Maria is one of the parents welcomed by the socio-educational project "With the families". According to Annachiara and Cecilia, the project educators who offer concrete help to the children of fragile and vulnerable families, Maria is resourceful mother: strong, resilient and gritty.

When they met, Maria had given birth to her third son Matteo. She was filled with guilt, fear and feelings of inadequacy due to her past as a drug addict. She needed to build a new relationship with Matteo and also repair the situation with her daughters Sofia and Giulia, from whom she had been estranged for a long time because she was in the rehabilitation facility.

A complex situation but Maria was not alone. With Annachiara and Cecilia she was able to share the difficulties and weariness of the moment. They provided her with practical help to better relate to her children. Through their support they are learning how to understand and relate to each other. Maria is gaining self-confidence and awareness of her capabilities.

Maria and her children still have a long way to go together and small important goals to achieve. In the coming months, in fact, Maria will have to accompany Matteo in the insertion to the nest, Giulia in the first grade and Sofia in the third grade. But Maria has always shown courage and openness to the advice of educators and so these challenges will also be an opportunity for growth.
