Completely by chance, the idea for this fairy tale was born during the walk on Mount Subasio organized on the Foundation’s eighth anniversary. During the event while she was walking, the actress Loretta Bonamente took inspiration from the publications that told Valter's story. She imagined Valter as a child and wanted to tell his story to a group of boys and girls.
From there the idea of writing a fairy tale was born and Annalisa Beghelli became involved in the project. She is an illustrator who met Valter when she was a child, while playing with his children.
The book tells the life of Valter Baldaccini by mixing real events and fantasy with the aim of making both youth and adult readers reflect on the importance of wishes.

“Valter dei desideri” was presented for the first time at the Teatro San Carlo in Foligno on 25 May 2024, on the ninth anniversary of the Foundation, with a theatrical show by and with Loretta Bonamente, directed by Giacomo Nappini Casuzzi and the boys and the girls of Protemus.

Valter was just a child when he ran towards the great beech tree on the hill. That place and that tree hid a secret that will accompany him throughout his life.
