In Burkina Faso, most people live in extremely difficult conditions due to the high rate of unemployment: half of people live below the poverty line.
The literacy rate is very low and most young people have no access to education. The right to study is often reserved for the first male child and the others, especially the girls, are forced to work against their will. In a country where life expectancy is less than 50 years, our help is paramount.
When Valter Baldaccini went to Burkina Faso for the first time in 2013, he was particularly stricken by the living conditions of the local population. It was his initiative, focused on the fundamental value of personal dignity, that launched the project for sponsorship.
So that same year, Umbra Cuscinetti S.p.A. went to the field together with La Gòmena Onlus and decided to fund the basic training course for 15 young people, believing that only through teaching these children will they have a greater chance of building their own future.
In 2015, with the establishment of the Valter Baldaccini Foundation, the project management has been entirely fully achieved.
