BURKINA FASO SPONSORSHIP

Burkina Faso is one of the poorest countries in the world. The population lives in conditions of extreme difficulty due to lack of work. Half of the people live below the poverty line and thousands of Burkinabé are forced to migrate to neighboring countries in search of a better life.

The literacy rate is very low and most young people do not have access to education. The right to education is often reserved for the first son and others, especially girls, are forced to work against their will.

With a life expectancy of just 60 years, Burkina Faso is politically characterized by strong internal instability, the scene of clashes, terrorist attacks and coups d'etat, which cause great insecurity and greatly increase the migration of people.

Valter Baldaccini in Burkina Faso

When Valter Baldaccini went to Burkina Faso for the first time, in 2012, he was particularly impressed by the living conditions of the local population. He immediately fell in love with that poor land and the children who live there. It was on his initiative, always bearing in mind the fundamental value of the dignity of the person, that the project of support at a distance was born.

After having built two wells for water supply, in an extremely arid land and having supported 33 emergency surgeries, at San Camille di Nanaro, Valter Baldaccini decided to take care of the little ones.

So in 2013 UMBRAGROUP, a company founded by Valter Baldaccini that became a world leader in precision mechanics and aeronautics, took the field together with the voluntary organization La Gòmena Onlus , to support the education of the children of Burkina Faso, with the belief that only through teaching these children would they have a real chance to build their future.

After its birth in 2015, the Valter Baldaccini Foundation has supported the distance support educational project in Burkina Faso.

The distance support project

Together with our referent Sister Philomene Kiendrebeogo of the Apostle Sisters of the Sacred Heart who for many years has lived in the communities in Burkina Faso and the precious help of many donors, 24 children and young people have access to instruction.

For these children, attending school not only means getting an education, but also the guarantee of a hot meal a day, clean clothes and a safe place where they can play and grow together with their classmates.

And we can only do it thanks to your support.
Distance adopting a child from Burkina Faso.

€ 0.41 per day is enough to guarantee these children access to schooling, the materials they need at school and at least one hot meal a day. With a donation of € 150 per year you will give the opportunity for a better future to many children of Burkina Faso. Donate now
