SCHOLARSHIPS TO THE SOPHIA FOUNDATION

To promote culture and to contribute to the training of two deserving students who otherwise would not have been able to continue. On October 25, 2017, the Valter Baldaccini Foundation donated € 15.000 to the Sophia Foundation to provide two scholarships at the Sophia University Institute (IUS). The students are Buerno Hernandez Juan Pablo, a Mechanical Engineer from Mexico and Askharon Mean Yosef Fahiem, a Petroleum Engineer from Egypt.

For two years they will attend the Sophia University Institute (IUS) is a center for academic training and research that operates from a social, civil, and community economic perspective. It was founded by Chiara Lubich and promoted by the “Focolare Movement” Work of Mary.

The two students will acquire an understanding of social economy that will allow them to operate in the labor market with a culture and human enrichment toolkit.

In July 2018, at the end of the first year of yhe University, the two young engineers attended a training internship in UMBRAGROUP. You can read the news here.
