Among the thoughts of Valter Baldaccini: words of hope

There are many writings that Valter Baldaccini left us. Valter was a man who used to prepare for public speaking by writing, sometimes even just by writing down by hand, what he intended to communicate.

The Foundation holds a small archive consisting of his Christmas greetings, his thoughts on the blessings on the occasion of Easter, short notes from meetings with his collaborators and some of his letters.

The Valter Baldaccini Foundation was born to provide continuity to his values and his life’s testimony, with projects and through Valter’s life story. A few months ago we presented the book dedicated to his life, written by his dear friend, Professor Ottaviano Turrioni.

Today, rereading Valter's writings, we find in his words the outline of a man who encountered difficulties in life, but always acted with critical tenacity and clarity, with courage and trust, with a solid faith in God and a positive vision of the human being made in His image.

In this complex moment, we would like to share some of his words with all of you. Even though he wrote them at a different time than the one we are experiencing, they seem pertinent today, and we believe they can be helpful and encouraging.

The first two quotes we offer to you include the word hope, which in times of crisis and difficulty must never abandon us.

"The current situation is before everyone's eyes and it must be acknowledged with balance, without easy illusions but also without hysteria. We are convinced that there will be obstacles (...), but they can be overcome, without forgetting that there will also be sacrifices to bear. We must therefore look to the future with courage and with the right encouragement of those who want to move forward, always keeping our indisputable ethical principles as a precise reference." (Written speech to communicate the Management buyout. Valter Baldaccini, together with other local investors, acquires 100% of the shares of Umbra Cuscinetti and becomes CEO.)

"This is today's message: the present is difficult, but we have a future." (Umbra Cuscinetti General Assembly, 20 November 2009)

Continue to give hope to those who are most in difficulty, donate now.
