"It takes a village to raise a child". This traditional African proverb inspired the creation of TOC TOC, a project that focuses on children and their educational and social needs.

A free educational space for parents and children in Foligno

TOC TOC was created as a space for growing together, with the aim of combating educational poverty and promoting the well-being of children through high-quality, accessible, and inclusive educational programs.

Children and parents meet and guided by educators and experts, share experiences, get to know each other and make friends. They engage in educational activities together that promote the cognitive and social-relational development of children and strengthen the parenting skills of adults.

An educational space for parents and children (0-6 years)

TOC TOC is a free educational space dedicated to children aged 0-6 and their parents. Here, families can meet to share quality time and enjoy meaningful experiences together.

All families are welcome at TOC TOC! The door is open even for those with language, communication, cognitive, or economic or cultural difficulties.

An educational community that grows together

TOC TOC promotes the value of the educational community, that is, the awareness that all community members can contribute to ensuring the best opportunities for growth for all children.

A project in collaboration with the La Locomotiva cooperative

TOC TOC - Welcome Families is a project born from the collaboration between the Valter Baldaccini Foundation and the La Locomotiva cooperative.

The service takes place in a space made available by the Municipality of Foligno and is based on the cooperative's experience with the Villaggio per Crescere Foligno project.

Educational activities at TOC TOC

The unique feature of the service is offering educational activities aimed at children and their parents together.

The activities and methods are designed based on scientific evidence, in collaboration with psychologists, pedagogues, and pediatricians: early exposure to specific activities such as listening to reading, music, drawing, and manual skills, as well as the first use of digital technologies, enable more competent and effective development (Early Childhood Education).

TOC TOC days are scheduled according to a monthly calendar. Each month, a theme is proposed that guides families through the meetings, which are structured with different types of educational activities:

• WE READ and LISTEN to stories, leafing through books and observing illustrations, to discover adventures and new worlds, including through the experience of reading together with parents.
• WE MAKE MUSIC and listen to sounds and noises, build instruments, and play together.
• WE PLAY and learn to invent, create, and interact with others.
• WE DRAW to describe ourselves and the world with shapes and colors.
• WE COOK, to get our hands dirty and enjoy delicious food made together; We plant and observe what grows from the earth.
• WE USE digital technologies.
• WE EXPLORE the land and the environment around us.
• WE MEET with experts and professionals, such as psychologists, pedagogists, pediatricians, and nutritionists, to gain greater awareness of the choices we make every day.
• WE COME TOGETHER and strengthen bonds to get to know and support one another.

Where is TOC TOC located and what are its opening hours?

TOC TOC - Welcome families is located in Foligno, at the F. Innamorati Children's Center, at Via Borroni 26.

It is open two days a week:

• Wednesday from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm
• Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm

Participation in the activities is free: registration is not required.
